From Innovation to Commercial Deployment

After more than a decade of research and development, Ecocem ACT is reaching an important milestone.

The Parker & Baker development in Chessy, near Paris, is the first major residential project anywhere in the world to use concrete made with ACT across every concrete element of the development.

Comprising 147 apartments and four houses, the project is using approximately 9,000m³ of concrete made with ACT, produced from a dedicated on-site batching plant.

As construction progresses, the project is demonstrating how low-carbon cement can be deployed at commercial scale using existing supply chains, construction methods and infrastructure.

Proving Commercial Deployment at Scale

The cement industry accounts for approximately 8% of global CO₂ emissions.

Reducing those emissions requires solutions that work in real-world construction, not just in laboratory conditions.

The Parker & Baker project demonstrates that ACT can deliver significant carbon reductions while maintaining the strength, durability and workability expected from conventional cement.

Throughout construction, regular quality testing confirmed that ACT met all technical performance requirements without affecting construction sequencing or site operations.

The successful operation of a single on-site batching plant further demonstrated ACT’s compatibility with existing construction practices.

Designed as a true drop-in technology, ACT can be used within existing cement manufacturing processes, batching operations and construction methods.

At Parker & Baker, ACT delivered the required technical performance while fitting seamlessly into normal construction activities.

Construction is now well underway at Parker & Baker, providing a real-world demonstration of ACT at commercial scale. Our first ACT production line will open in Dunkirk in 2027, with capacity to produce 300,000 tonnes per annum.
