Introducing ACT

Our next-generation, cost-effective, low-carbon cement technology reduces carbon by up to 70% without changing how projects are delivered.

Concrete with 70% Less Carbon: The Ecocem ACT Demonstrator Project

"ACT behaves like concrete, it looks like concrete and feels like concrete. So when our contractors have worked with it, it is the same product essentially. The only thing different is there is less carbon in it." - Ross Cullen, Technical Director at Sisk.

The report shows how ACT met all required performance standards across slabs, walls, columns, stairs and precast elements, while significantly reducing carbon by 70%.

Delivering ACT

By working together the cement industry can become the first industrial sector to decarbonise on a trajectory compliant with 1.5°C of global warming.

"I think we will very quickly move away from the most carbon-intensive mixes that have been used for decades in the past" - Simon Banfield, Director, Ramboll UK.

Our breakthrough low-carbon cement technology, ACT, was used in the real world for one of the first times ever on a pilot-project in Canary Wharf, right in the heart of London.

We worked with Canary Wharf Group and Troubadour Theatres Limited to create an exciting new venue in the form of a 1,200 capacity theatre.
