Delivering ACT

Making Innovation a Reality
We have the know-how to take cutting edge solutions from the lab, through production, to real world application. For 25 years, we’ve been at the forefront of delivering low-carbon cement technology. Our integrated innovation and delivery teams work together to to turn ideas and insights into actionable, scalable solutions.

Innovation in Action: End-to-End Innovation and Delivery

What sets us apart is our ability to transform early-stage ideas into robust, scalable, high-performance solutions from lab research and innovation to jobsite implementation.

Cracking the technical challenge is as important as figuring out how to test, manufacture, scale, and deliver solutions in real world conditions. Our Research and Innovation (R&I) and Concrete Technology Deployment teams combine to develop technical solutions, test and then scale these solutions for real-world concrete applications, This makes sure innovations are not only tested but also effectively implemented in practical applications and at scale.

The innovation and deployment teams:

  • 01
    Develop technical solutions
  • 02
    Test innovation in real-world conditions
  • 03
Scale solutions for practical concrete applications
  • 04
Ensures breakthroughs are successfully implemented at scale

Research and Innovation team

The Research and Innovation team has focused on reinventing cement from first principles—drawing in external expertise, challenging assumptions, and embracing science-led disruption. Our 40-strong Research & Innovation team focuses on developing new low-carbon cements, admixtures, industrial mortars, concretes, and exploring innovative solutions in building chemistry.

We have academic partnerships with over ten universities around the world, including University of Paris-Saclay, Technological University of Munich, University of Toronto and University of California, Davis.

Standards and Norms

Cement and concrete standards are the foundation of safe, durable, and reliable construction. In the EU, these regulations define how materials are specified and used across member states. While cement standards are harmonized, concrete standards remain largely national, reflecting local materials, climates, and construction methods.
