Ecocem Ultra is a hydraulic binder that is manufactured in a specific process. Ecocem Ultra is intended for use in the preparation of concrete, mortar, and other construction mixes and in the manufacture of construction products.
It is characterised by high resistance to chemical attack and low heat of hydration, significantly reducing the carbon footprint of the project on which it is used by offering a reliable alternative to the traditional cement manufacturing process.
Ecocem Ultra is produced by industrial mixing of its constituents. The production of the binder does not involve a combustion process. Its composition is statistically homogeneous due to quality assurance covering the production and handling processes.
Ecocem Ultra forms part of VINCI’s Ultra-Low Carbon Concrete range and is already being used on major projects across Europe.
Over 300m3 of ultra-low carbon concrete was poured on the EcoPark South Waste Management Hub at Edmonton EcoPark in London, which was completed in February 2022. This cut the carbon footprint of the concrete used in this part of the project by 70%.
