A new hardening accelerating admixture for concrete
AccelR8 is a hardening accelerating admixture for concrete to EN 934-2:T7. It is specifically designed for non structural precast and ready-mix concrete. AccelR8 increases early age strength and ensures turn around times allowing for the use of 50% GGBS and higher in your concrete mix design.

The first admixture of its kind, AccelR8 activates the GGBS and cement components of the concrete, making the unique benefits of high GGBS contents available to you.
AccelR8 contains less than 10% chloride (non calcium chloride) and 10% alkali. Consideration should be given to Table NA.4 and Clause NA. 5.3 of I.S. EN 206:2013.
AccelR8 meets the corrosion test requirement of ≤ 10μA/cm² in EN 934-1 when tested to EN 480-14. Increased early age strength makes AccelR8 the ideal admixture for applications such as blocks, paving, fencing, and other non-prestressed light precast.
At a 1% dosage rate AccelR8 can increase the strength of GGBS concrete by 50-90%. GGBS achieves greater long-term strength than cement. Compatible with all admixtures, care is to be taken with lignosulfonate products regarding retardation.

Over 300m3 of ultra-low carbon concrete was poured on the EcoPark South Waste Management Hub at Edmonton EcoPark in London, which was completed in February 2022. This cut the carbon footprint of the concrete used in this part of the project by 70%.
